STAGE ONE BEGINS

Following the completion of the restoration of the Rotunda the City of Greater Geelong advises that preliminary construction site establishment and set-out works for the Portarlington Town Square and Newcombe St Redevelopment (Stage 1) are scheduled to start the week commencing Monday 30th August 2010.

The works staging is programmed to minimise the disruption to vehicular and pedestrian movements and are scheduled for completion by mid December.
The CoGG has contracted the services of Lake and Land P/L, an experienced Barwon Heads based civil construction company with the necessary skills and expertise to build a high quality streetscape.

Construction Staging:
Stage A – South Side - No 60 – No 76 Newcombe Street (Newsagency – Grand Hotel)
Stage B – North Side – Town Square around Rotunda

Councils' original costing of $550,000 has now blown out to $885,000 with the additional amount of $335,000 being transferred from other Coryule project vis.

1. Community Services Coryule Strategy (C10505) – $250,000

2. Portarlington Sports Precinct Master Plan (C11835) – $85,000
